This book is called The Son of Neptune, and it is Book 2 of the Heroes of Olympus series. This is the second series with hero Percy Jackson. Here is the summary.
"Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, god of the Sea, has woken from a very deep sleep and come face to face with two snake-haired ladies who refuse to die.
But they’re the least of his problems because Percy finds himself at a camp for half-bloods, which doesn’t ring any bells for him. There’s just one name he remembers from his past, Annabeth.
Only one thing is certain – Percy’s questing days aren’t over. He and fellow demigods Frank and Hazel must face the most important quest of all: the Prophecy of Seven. If they fail, it’s not just their camp at risk. Percy’s old life, the gods, and the entire world might be destroyed . . ."
This book is AMAZING!!!!! I loved the original Percy Jackson series, and this one is even better! It basically tells the story of how the Greek and Roman gods are similar, and why their children have to be kept apart. My favourite passage was in the start of the book. It read:
"As he fell towards the highway, a horrible scenario flashed through his mind: his body smashing against an SUV's windshield, some annoyed commuter trying to push him off with the wipers. Stupid 16-year-old kid falling from the sky! I'm late!"
The reason this is my favourite is because it is really funny, and that is the most likely thing that Percy thinks will happen to him.
All in all, this is one of my absolute favourites, I reccomend it to Year 6 and up because of 'violence', and I give it an awesome 100/5 stars!
Happy reading,
Sam :)
