This book is a great because you can read your favorite fairy tales while you cook but maybe not just in case you light the house on fire. I give it 5/5 because it's so great !!! Check out the poster below to see which recipe I tried and see the beautiful recipe book poster I made. Olive

Best Mate (also published as Born to Run) by Michael Morpurgo is a book about a greyhound dog called Best Mate who starts a journey of a lifetime when he is abandoned as a puppy and rescued by a boy named Patrick. He loves his life with Patrick until two animal smugglers come and capture Best Mate and take him away to be raced against other greyhounds. The racer’s daughter, Becky, soon learns the ugly truth about retired greyhounds and runs away with Best Mate, whom she calls Brighteyes. But life in the streets is a horrible nightmare. Brighteyes and Becky have some trouble (I won’t spoil it with details) and Brighteyes must start yet another life … This is the only book I have ever read that made me cry. I just felt so sorry for Patrick, Becky, and Best Mate himself. This book is awesome and I reccomend it to year 6 students and up - I'm year 8 and I cried while I read it! [You weren't the only one to have a sniffle with this book Sam! Ms. Hill :(] I give it a good 10/10 :) Samantha This week's challenge ...
What book last made you cry?? SPOILER ALERT!! If you haven't read this book and you still want to ... don't read any further!!! Harry Potter Deathly Hallows is the book that made me cry. It is so sad because Dobby dies and so do Fred and Prof Lupin and Nimfedora/Tonks. So do a lot of others, it is so sad. I think J.K. Rowling is very bad at deciding who dies BUT at least Lord Voldemort dies :)Thank goodness. Alice B. The most saddest books I've ever read have to be Abandon Ship and Lola Rose. I cry several times throughout Lola Rose because of how the father treats the family, and when the mother is diagnosed with a horrible illness. In Abandon Ship I cry when Debbie writes how a man throws a baby off the side of the ship to someone in a life-boat and the baby misses the boat and falls in the dark, freezing ocean and is left to drown. Georgia :( Heey fellow people of the earth, I found this on youtube and thought it was sooooo cool so I decided to share it with other eager young book readers (that's you). I hope you like it, and after seeing it, would be excited to read the book. Cya soon! Rhianna xox The book that made me cry would have to be Deathly Hallows because Dobby the house elf dies and so does Harry Potter's messenger bird Headwig :( Ashlee This book is all about weird and whacky inventions that will never hit the market.
There are inventions from reusable toilet paper to soundproof underwear. It is very HUMOROUS and it will have you falling off the couch with laughter! I rate it 10/10 and I recommend it to intermediate aged kids. The puppy pacifier was my favourite invention because it is very clever and if you have a puppy and it`s chewing your favourite barbie or ben 10 doll give it the puppy pacifier. It is made up of a pacifier and a bone. P.s i have a dog that needs one of these. Kaylah :) Artemis Fowl is a great book. It has a great blend of street smarts meets fantasy and it speaks to the reader It is very good I can guarantee that it will keep you guessing till the end. The plot is great read and in the first 5 pages you will be hooked.
The plot is basically when criminal mastermind kidnaps a fairy for gold they send a troll, a lot of fairies, a convict, and a super smart centaur - the fairy world hangs in the balance. The fight with the troll my favorite part. My favourite character, although all are great, would be Artemis. I liked the text, the characters, and the plot. I would recommend it to people 10 to 13 or 9 to 7 year olds with a good grasp of words. Why? Because of the plot its intense. I would rate it ten out of ten. Tane |
