Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif.
By: Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is the first book of many from the series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In this book Percy Jackson the son of Poseidon God of the sea must embark on a dangerous quest to return the lightning bolt of Zues and not the small zig-zag ones you drew in year 3 but a 1 metre long staff of pure energy and makes mortal Hydrogen bombs look like fire-crackers. Percy Jackson has been framed for taking it and they believe it was Hades the God of the Underworld. He, Annabeth (the daughter of Athena the Goddess of wisdom) and his protector Grover the saytr join him and on their journey the encounter many tasks missions and near death experiences, from fighting Medusa the fearful snaked haired woman to the almight Ceberus the hound of Hades. This book keeps you in suspence at all times there is not a single moment when you feel like you want to put the book down. I once stayed up all night with a flashlight to read more it was that amazingly awesome. My favourate character is Percy mainly because of the power he possesss and his great determination to not give up even if the task at hand is to travel to the pits of tartarus. I reccomend this book to 9+ this book this book might be hard to understand alongside with descripted violence and gore. My favourate part is when Percy is travelling through the underworld to find Hades and ask if he has the lighting bolt. I rate this book 5985 dying animals out of 5987, this is ultra intresting and educates you on the Greek Gods of Olympus.
